Barcelona are ready to listen to offers for the American, who currently plays in the Spanish third division.
Barcelona are willing to sell their highly-talented American star, Konrad de la Fuente in the summer transfer window. As reported by ESPN, several clubs in Spain and Germany are interested in signing the 19-year old prodigy.
Konrad received his first international cap for the United States, back in November last year and has also made his first-team debut for Barcelona this season. He has featured in two Champions League games for the Catalans, coming off the bench. The American has been training with Ronald Koeman‘s side since last summer, but chances in the first team have been limited.
The 19-year old has spent the last few weeks with the second division team, who are vying for promotion to the second tier of Spanish football. Konrad’s contract at the club expires next summer, but the Catalans have an option to extend his stay till 2024. He has been highly rated by the club, but the likes of Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembele, Ansu Fati, Antoine Griezmann have made it difficult for him to break into the first team.
Barcelona have been hit by a huge financial crisis after the massive debt that has been piled up. Joan Laporta, who was sworn in as the president of the club only recently, will hope to find a solution in the summer. The Catalans can raise a substantial sum of money from the sale of Konrad de la Fuente, who will certainly attract quite a lot of attention.
The Spanish giants are likely to prefer a permanent deal to a loan, but they would surely like to include a buy-back clause in the deal. However, Ronald Koeman has vested his faith in youngsters like Fati, Fransico Trincao and Pedri, so he may stick with American for another season and give him more opportunities in the first team.
