Barcelona and Juventus have kept close tabs on an Ajax Amsterdam superstar who has now been labeled as the next Paul Pogba due to his skillset
Barcelona was heavily criticised in the 2019/20 season due to their lack of youngsters in the starting eleven. The club indeed fielded one of the oldest squads ever in La Liga history under Quique Setien as eight players were over the age of thirty in the starting eleven. However, this season, the Catalans have made changes as the club has focused on younger players and has signed youngsters such as Sergino Dest, Pedri, Fransico Trincao, and so on.
The Blaugrana are keen on adding more youngsters to their current midfield and have kept an eye out on a particular youngster from Ajax Amsterdam for the last couple of years. The player in question is Ryan Gravenberch, the 18-year-old has highly impressed Erik ten Hag and was also the protagonist in Ajax’s recent dominant display in the Dutch league that ended 13-0 for the red and whites.
Ryan Gravenberch has been labeled as the next Paul Pogba as the player has shown tremendous quality and talent at the age of 18 and many believe that he could potentially be the next superstar like the Manchester United man. However, along with Barca, Juventus have kept close tabs on him and is eager on signing the player as soon as possible.
Andrea Pirlo has made it loud and clear that he wants to revolutionize the way Juventus play football and is on the lookout for younger talent that can adapt to his system. The former Italian midfielder is keen on converting the dead midfield engine at the Juventus stadium into a powerhouse to support their star-studded attack that consists of Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala, and Alvaro Morata.
Pirlo believes that the services of Ryan Gravenberch could be handy given the fact that Serie A is no longer a single horse race. Both Juventus and Barcelona were willing to wage a betting war to sign the young man, however, the best option would be for Ryan to continue at Ajax for more game-time.
