Arsenal left-back has been contacted by three Europa League clubs and might consider leaving the club this summer

Arsenal left-back Sead Kolasinac has garnered interest from three Europa League clubs after falling out of favour with Mikel Arteta and going below Kieran Tierney in the pecking order. The trio of Bayer Leverkusen, FC Schalke and AS Roma have enquired about the Bosnian international.

According to Sport Bild, Bayer Leverkusen have placed a “serious offer” for the player and are hopeful of signing the player by the end of this weekend.

The 27 year-old fullback managed a total of 30 appearances last season. With the arrival of Kieran Tierney, Kolasinac has found it tough to feature as the first choice left-back. Mikel Arteta has often decided to slot the likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Bukayo Saka in the left-back position as well, which may be a strong enough sign that his future lies away from the Emirates Stadium.

However, the 27-year-old has decided to stay and fight for a starting spot in the present Gunners lineup.

In a recent interview Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz said:

We have six central defenders and all are right-footed.

His words clearly indicated that his team is in search for a left-footed defender.

Arsenal are looking to trim their squad as they have started to look for suitors for Maitland-Niles and now Sead Kolasinac.

The North London club will consider any suitable offer for the defender as they are looking to decrease their wage bill and make way for the likes of Houssem Auoar and Thomas Partey. Presently the left-back is under contract until 2022 which will see him bag around 10 million euros should he stay until its expiry.

At 27, Kolasinac will be making an important decision whether he has any future at Arsenal or will move back to his former league.

The Gunners left-back may move back to Germany where he already has a house in Dusseldorf, making it easy for him to go back to familiar conditions. For now the player has not shown any signs off pushing for a transfer and may as well have another go at the club’s left-back position.

Do you think Kolasinac must play at Arsenal in the 2020/21 campaign?
