Arsenal are planning a special swap deal with Real Madrid.

Arsenal are ready to ruin their former captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s day by preparing an exchange deal with the rivals of his desired club.

The Gabon international has already voiced his desire to move to Barcelona as they are desperately in need of a new striker. The problem with Aubameyang is his age as at 31 years of age, the Arsenal striker cannot be the long term successor to 33-year-old Luis Suarez.

The Catalans have targetted Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez as the ideal alternative but the deal with the Italian side bears no fruit as they are demanding a very expensive transfer in the current economically strained market.

The forward is now ready to wait for the outcome of the negotiations between Inter and Barcelona before signing an extended deal with the Gunners. Mikel Arteta, however, has other plans to replace the Gabonese as he plans to submit an exchange offer to Real Madrid.

Los Blancos are struggling with their latest signing, Luka Jovic, after a disappointing campaign whereas his counterpart, Karim Benzema, had one of his most successful seasons.

The Spanish giants paid 60 million euros to Eintracht Frankfurt for the signing of the Serbian international, but now face the issue of not only finding his replacement with someone who scores goals but also a club ready to pay his transfer fee.

Arteta believes that the two sides are having a common issue and could possibly join hands to find a mutually beneficial solution. The idea is that the two strikers swap jerseys with Aubameyang moving to Madrid a year before his contract expires and Jovic moving the other direction.

The biggest issue the two clubs face is agreeing on the amount. The Gunners believe that their striker is more valued than Jovic after a failed season, while Zinedine Zidane’s side feels Jovic’s value is greater based on his performance so far in his career.

Once the two clubs decided on a fee, both the players will also have to accept the move with Aubemeyang awaiting Barca’s response to move to the Nou Camp. Any negotiations with their rivals could possibly hinder any chances of him moving to his desired destination which could make it difficult for Arsenal to finalize the deal.
