Arsenal are lining up a brilliant transfer for one of Paris Saint-Germain’s reasonably priced players during the upcoming transfer window.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is likely to have a new-look on his roster next season. While not many players are expected to leave, the former Manchester City assistant could see some players coming in. Defensive reinforcements continue to be a priority at the Emirates Stadium but there’s equal importance paid to attacking buffing up.
Thomas Partey is expected to sign very soon from Atletico Madrid for close to 50 million euros and next up, the Gunners will turn their attentions to landing Julian Draxler who they believe would be a worthy successor for Mesut Ozil in the attacking midfielder’s position. HITC claims that the Paris Saint-Germain superstar is once again on their radar.
Julian Draxler doesn’t seem to have a future at the Parc des Princes and has been left cold by compatriot and manager Thomas Tuchel. The German midfielder is below the likes of Marco Verratti, Angel di Maria and Idrissa Gueye in the pecking order, but things did get worse for him as the Ligue 1 giants electing to sign Pablo Sarabia and Leandro Paredes.
While he intends to stay at the Parc des Princes, the former Wolfsburg superstar is aware of the fact that his chances of being called-up to the Euro 2021 are slim. Joachim Low has very lately started giving opportunities to the younger players and the 26-year-old may very well get a spot in the squad should he play regularly, something that’s very much possible at Arsenal.
Mesut Ozil who has been one of the best midfielders of the last decade saw his career go down the drain when Unai Emery, who was a rather clueless manager as per many decided to freeze the Germany international from his crucial role. While Arteta has helped the ex-Real Madrid man back in the team, it’s certainly difficult for a 31-year-old to bloom like before after months of being isolated.
Ozil’s future seems to be at north London but even he may very well be aware of the fact that he would never start games and get involved in big things as often as he did back in the day. The midfielder would take a lot of effort and probably something extraordinary to win his place back in the team, a rather unlikely happening given the mediocre players around him.
Draxler has proven himself in two of Europe’s top-five leagues and being only 26, there’s no reason to believe why he cannot fit into the Premier League with aplomb. With a value of 25 million euros, Mikel Arteta’s side can certainly afford to bring in the player even in a situation like the one going on.
Norwich City were beaten 4-0 by the Gunners on Wednesday evening in what was quite a comfortable win at the Emirates Stadium, however, they surely lacked creativity with Dani Ceballos being the only spark down the central areas of the pitch. Ozil was missing with a back injury and a creative player like Draxler would be a solid fit for the future.
