Arsenal require an injection of ambitious players into their roster and to fulfil that, they’ve drawn up a list of four attackers.

Arsenal are already considering their options given the uncertainty surrounding Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future at the club. The Gunners’ captain has only a year left on his contract and is reportedly seeking a bigger challenge than Arsenal has to offer for the 31-year-old.

As per Express, the north Londoners have shortlisted four attacking players as their summer targets. However, their main concern will not be about landing their targets, it will be revolving around two things. One, securing Aubameyang’s future at the club, and two, offloading Mesut Ozil to free up their funds. The German international currently earns around £350,000.

The list is topped by Raul Jimenez who has been very impressive for Wolverhampton Wanderers this season. His name is followed by the likes of Moussa Dembele and Philippe Coutinho. They are in need of a long-term striker as even if Aubameyang decides to stay, he is 31 now. He may have only around 2 years left in his prime. Besides a striker, they also are looking at creative players.

Coming to Dembele, Arsenal enjoy a good relationship with Olympique Lyon and hence the supposed deal shouldn’t have many problems, if they do manage to arrange the funds required. Dembele is one of the upcoming strikers of the game and presents with a long-term option for the club at a reasonable price it may seem.

Next up is Barcelona flop, Coutinho. The discarded BArca player has a lot to ponder about when it comes to his future. In the past three years, he has not been favored by either of Barcelona or Bayern Munich and a Premier League return may be the best option for him to consider.

With the Blaugrana in a desperate need of funds, they wouldn’t think twice before offloading him but at the right price. The Catalan giants are looking to recover at least half of the 140 million pounds that they spent on him. Arsenal are interested in landing him but given his price range, it looks highly unlikely.

Their prime target is, however, Raul Jimenez. The 29-year-old has been more than impressive for Wolves this season and given his tally of 17 goals, it is a no-brainer that Arteta wants him in his squad. The only factor to consider here is the forward’s age but if Arsenal are to compete for the big trophies, they might as well make-do with temporary boosts.

Arteta has identified the cracks in his squad and will be looking to fill them before the start of the new season. With him being told that he needs to sell before he can buy, the former Barcelona player has his work cut out for him. Mind you, he also needs to address Alexandre Lacazette’s situation who may well end up following in Aubameyang’s footsteps.

The Arsenal boss, however, remains confident of the above-mentioned players’ future at the club.
