Arsenal are looking into the possibility of signing the Croatian winger who knocked out Spurs from the Europa League.
Mislav Orsic, the Croatian winger got his fair share of the limelight as he played an instrumental role in knocking Tottenham Hotspur out of the Europa League. The Dinamo Zagreb forward scored an incredible hattrick as the Croatian side overturned a 2-0 deficit after the first leg of the last 16 clash. A brace in the second half of the home leg, followed by a precious winner in extra-time ensured that Zagreb reached the quarterfinals of the Europa League.
Soon after his astonishing display against Spurs, Mislav Orsic has been under the radar of several clubs who are looking to scout the Croatian with the possibility of signing him in the summer. One of the candidates, interested in signing Orsic is Arsenal, as reported by The Sun. The Dinamo Zagreb winger could come back to north London to haunt Jose Mourinho and Spurs.
Orsic is a vital cog in Dinamo Zagreb’s attack, racking up 19 goals and 8 assists so far this season in all competitions. The Croatian showed his capability of playing in Europe’s most elite competition, as he scored 4 goals and assisted one in the Champions League last season.
Mikel Arteta is keen on adding more options to his attacking front, as the club aspires to become Premier League title contenders in the near future. Currently, Arteta does not have many attacking options at his disposal, which is one of the primary reasons why the Gunners are far behind in the race to seal a Champions League spot for next season.
Willian was signed from Chelsea last summer but has failed to deliver consistent performances and live up to his expectations. The same can be said of Nicolas Pepe who might be on his way out in the summer. Considering the current scenario at Arsenal, Arteta will be keen on securing the services of Orsic in the summer window.
The Croatian’s contract at Zagreb runs out in the summer of 2025 and his market value has shot up considerably after his stellar performance against Spurs. Dinamo Zagreb will look to make the most out of this deal and demand a sum of around 15-20 million euros for the winger. Mikel Arteta will have to be spot on with his transfers in the summer, given that he is not expected to be handed a huge amount of money.
