Arsenal have reportedly identified Scottish League striker as a potential replacement for one of their star forwards
Arsenal has had an average start to their season as the Gunners have just managed to acquire 12 points in their seven games in the Premier League and are currently sitting 9th in the table. The English outfit has although been in good touch in the Europa League as they maintain a 100 percent win record in their first couple of games.
Mikel Arteta‘s side won their first away game at Old Trafford after 14 years as they defeated United 1-0 as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored from the spot ending his goalless streak of five games. At present, the club is slated to face Molde at the Emirates Stadium on Friday which is followed by a league clash against Aston Villa.
According to recent reports, it has been stated that Arsenal is in search of a new striker and have identified Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard as a potential candidate for their striker position. The Gunners presently have the services of Alexander Lacazette as the club’s main no.9 although there have been speculations that the French forward might be replaced in the future as the club keen on bringing a new striker for the former Lyon man.
In the last couple of seasons, Edouard has been an important member of the Scottish side as he has contributed heavily in front of the goal. The former PSG man scored 22 goals in 27 appearances last season for the Glasgow based club and has become an undisputed starter for the Hoops.
The Gunners are insistent on bringing a new striker and reportedly have targeted a younger candidate in the form of the 22-year-old forward. Mikel Arteta’s side brought in Willian as a second striker and reports claim that the Spanish coach has started to lose trust in the French forward. The prospect of investing in the Celtic star indicates that the English outfit is planning on life after Lacazette and is ready to rely on the youngster to bolster the current forward line.
