Newly appointed manager of Juventus, Andrea Pirlo, considers to part ways with a talented midfielder for the 2020/21 season.
With a major upset against Lyon in the Champions League, losing on away goals, Juventus president Andrea Agnelli had no choice but to fire the man in charge, Maurizio Sarri. Even though the Italian coach had won the Serie-A in his first season at the helm, the performances displayed by the team were extremely poor throughout the season despite having a very strong side on paper.
As a replacement, former Juventus legend Andrea Pirlo was appointed as the club manager. It is unclear as to how the results might pan out for the Turin side as Pirlo does not seem to have much experience as a coach. However, he was one of the best midfielders Europe had ever witnessed, and if there is one thing the Bianconeri can count on the Italian making improvements on, is their midfield.
The Zebre have been terrible in the middle of the park with no creativity or support to the attack coming from the position, all of which is hopefully ought to change. One of the first things the 41-year-old plans to do is to sell Welshman Aaron Ramsey. According to reports, the Italian legend has no use for the former Arsenal player.
The 29-year-old arrived from Arsenal last season as a free agent and signed a contract which made him make the list of one of the 10 most paid players, earning about 400,000 euros a week. His performances, however, do not justify a paycheck that high as, since his arrival, he has had a very underwhelming season, managing to find the net thrice and providing only 1 assist in the last 24 games in the Italian league.
Also, with the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Adrien Rabiot, and new arrival Arthur Melo in competition for a place in the starting line-up next season, it is pretty safe to say that Ramsey would not be included in the plans for the Italian champions.
Juventus require a serious revamp if they want to fulfill their wishes of lifting a European title, and Pirlo has been entrusted as the man for the job. It remains to be seen what changes will be brought to the club and how it will affect their game, but it will surely be a long and exciting journey to witness.
