Barcelona keeps title hopes alive after securing three-points in a narrow victory over Espanyol.
One of the most historic clubs of La Liga has been relegated after 26 years in the first division of Spanish league as Barcelona send their local rivals to the second division after a poor campaign.
While Barca enjoyed a dominating performance against Villarreal on Sunday, their performance against Espanyol was lackluster, to say the least, as the six-match winless streak of Espanyol was almost broken as Blaugrana struggled defensively on many occasions.
It was the combo of MSG that saw the only goal of the match to keep Barca’s title hopes alive as Real Madrid continue their fine form to secure the La Liga title. Quique Setien‘s men have lost the control over this year’s league title as the only way they get to be crowned champions is if Real somehow drop 5 points in the next 3 games.
Having said that, the Catalan side must continue to work on the successful system that helped them dominate Villarreal on Sunday, in order to have the best version going into the Champions League fixtures in August.
Here are the five talking points from the match against Espanyol.
