Real Madrid won 4-1 versus Huesca to move to the top of La Liga, at least until Real Sociedad played their next match of the match-week.
Real Madrid bagged a convincing win as they smashed four goals past Huesca on the way to a 4-1 win at the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium. The defending La Liga champions saw Eden Hazard score a belter on his first start since July in the Spanish top-flight. Karim Benzema added a brace to the Belgian’s opener and Federico Valverde scored too.
Zinedine Zidane rested crucial players ahead of the Champions League match against Inter Milan on Tuesday but still managed to claim all three points. Unfortunately, Thibaut Courtois was unable to keep a clean sheet as the visiting outfit scored a consolation and has now conceded a goal or more in five successive matches.
Here is a look at the five talking points from the clash.
REAL MADRID BENEFIT FROM HAZARD’S RETURN
Eden Hazard has been suffering from injuries ever since his arrival into Real Madrid, but when he is present on the pitch, the Merengues average over 2.5 goals per game in the league. The good omen worked in their favour once again as they hit four for the first time this season and the Belgium international was on target too.
On his first start of the season, the former Chelsea ace grabbed a much-needed goal for his club and certainly for his own morale. Apart from just his second strike for Los Blancos, the 29-year-old made good attacking contributions for Madrid and all eyes will now be on him to live up to a club-record price tag from the summer of 2019.
