Vinicius Junior and Sergio Ramos struck the all-important goals in either half to ensure success for Zinedine Zidane’s side and continue leading the Spanish league standings on head-to-head ahead of Barcelona.
Los Blancos’ win against the islanders was anything but straightforward as they had to labour through the opening half when the visitors looked threatening. However, after the opener, the momentum was on the host’s side and following a sublime free-kick from their captain, there was no doubt that the spoils belonged to the Whites.
Zidane’s side is now on a winning streak of four matches and while sometimes the fixtures were a walk in the park, Real Madrid were made to work for their points on the other occasions. Against Mallorca, the La Liga leaders were far from their best but some good moments and total control of the match in the second half saw them get a much-needed win.
