BENZEMA PICKS UP FORM AT THE RIGHT TIME FOR REAL MADRID

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has five goals and two assists in his last five appearances in all competitions. With fixtures against the likes of Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Sevilla lined up for December, it is the perfect time at which the Frenchman has picked up form in what may be a very decisive month in the early parts of the season.

Benzema was on target when Los Blancos claimed 1-0 wins over Sevilla away from home and Atletico Madrid at home during the 2019/20 campaign and has already notched one against Inter Milan in the Champions League this year. He is a potent source of goals for Zidane and the manager will look for his compatriot to continue his rich form.

VAR DRAMA SHOWS INCONSISTENCY IN LA LIGA

VAR helped Valencia to three incredibly decisive moments in the match. The first was a retaken penalty even though a player from the home side had encroached into the box, the second was a supposed foul on Marco Asensio in the build-up which was looked at but never called. These helped Los Che go 2-1 up and totally change the game.

Sergio Ramos was also punished for his hand ball to concede the third penalty of the game which was awarded upon consultation with VAR. However, this was a correct decision. The referees in La Liga have already been the subject of media controversy and this match was the personification of why there has been as much criticism.
