5 talking points as Liverpool cruise past Chelsea in London

Liverpool beat Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge in a clash between two sides who will contend for the title as time goes by.

Liverpool added three points on the board in their hunt of a second successive Premier League crown with a 2-0 win over Chelsea. Sadio Mane was on target twice at the Stamford Bridge to help Jurgen Klopp’s men to an easy win in London. The Blues went down to 10 men in the first half and the Reds made the most of their man advantage in the next 45.

A sumptuous move was rounded off with a perfect header from Mane past Kepa Arrizabalaga. Chelsea’s day went from bad to worse after a mistake from their goalie gifted Mane a second minutes later and things only went downhill for them thereon. Jorginho missed a penalty in the final stages and missed out on giving Chelsea a say in the match.

Sadio Mane is arguably the best big game player that Liverpool have in their roster. His record against the finest teams is wonderful, even if he does not directly contribute with the goals. The Senegal international was on target twice against Chelsea and it was another complete and gleaming performance from him.

The ex-Southampton superstar showed incredible hunger to get his second. After a mishit pass, Mane chased down a couple of yards to intercept Kepa’s pass and make it 2-0. He is one of the world’s most underrated players and that’s the reason he is never lauded for his performances. The 28-year-old is phenomenal and single-handedly showed it yet again.
