MINAMINO’S WAIT FOR CHANCES GO ON
Takumi Minamino was signed last season with great expectations after the back of two brilliant performances against Liverpool while on the books of RB Salzburg.
After the half-season required for settling into a new team and new country, the fans thought he would kick on and make the difference this season. However, he has found opportunities hard to come by this season and looks to be a low priority in the pecking order.
The fact that Klopp started with Origi and brought on Minamino after the match was effectively settled highlighted the lack of trust in the Japanese star. He would hope to get a chance to impress in the next few games though.
LIVERPOOL WINGERS FIRE BLANKS
Mohamed Salah finally returned to action after two weeks out due to COVID-19. He was sloppy in his touches and his lack of match fitness was reflected in his performance. He had only trained for three days and did not look sharp at all.
Meanwhile, Sadio Mane’s struggles in front of goals continue with a return of just one goal in the last eight matches. Mane who missed few matches due to COVID has regressed a bit and will hope to return to form soon to help out his team.
Liverpool will hope to put this one-off performance right when they face Brighton on Saturday with a chance to put pressure on others who face each other on Sunday.
