Barcelona are in desperate need of a defensive overhaul especially concerning their aging center-back Gerard Pique.
The Spaniard has maintained his role as the main defender for the Catalans but is moving towards the end of an illustrious career. Clement Lenglet has established himself as the undisputed partner to Pique, but Barca are looking to break up the pair and replace the Spanish international after a disappointing season.
While Pique signed a contract renewal back in 2018 extending his stay at the Nou Camp until 2022, he is likely to be used less and less over the next two years allowing someone else to take over his role permanently.
Both Samuel Umtiti and Jean-Clair Todibo have been struggling at the club and have thus been heavily linked with an exit in this transfer window.
