Five of the underperforming players from Real Madrid in the 2019/20 championship-winning campaign
The 2019/20 campaign saw Real Madrid lift their 34th Spanish league title along with the Spanish super cup. However, the Madrid based club fell short in the Champions League as they were eliminated from the round of 16 for a second consecutive time.
The 2019/20 season has certainly been an upgrade from the earlier season in what could be described as the darkest season in Real Madrid’s history. Zinedine Zidane’s appointment as the manager of the club has played a crucial role in overcoming the poor 2018/19 season and so have several players stepped up to do the same.
However, it would be extremely contradictory to name the worst performers from a championship-winning side as winning the league takes a collective effort. Having said that, there are still a few players that have not performed at their very best, and here are five players who fall under that category.

The former Chelsea winger was signed for 100 million euros and was a signing that Zinedine Zidane himself demanded. However, Hazard has not just clicked yet at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Belgian international arrived at the world’s greatest club with a slack attitude as well as the player was overweight by 8kgs upon his arrival.
After over 1000 minutes in the Spanish league, Eden Hazard only managed to register a single goal along with three assists. Although Hazard’s stint at the Bernabeu has been ravaged by injuries, it is still fair to say that the former Chelsea man has not made the most of when he was fit.
Eden Hazard was included in the starting eleven against Manchester City in the return leg at the Etihad Stadium and after even after 82 minutes Hazard failed to make any significant impact in the game.
The Belgian winger seriously has to pull his socks up for the 2020/21 season if he is to be a success at Real Madrid.
