Liverpool extend their club-record unbeaten home run after an impressive home win against high flying Leicester City

Liverpool returned to winning ways again after an impressive home victory against high flying Leicester City side. Liverpool was dominant from start to finish and rarely allowed Leicester any clear cut chances. Both sides came into this one with depleted squads. The Reds were flawless at home this season and Leicester likewise away from home. In the end, it was Liverpool who extended their PL home record to 64 matches.

 Liverpool came into this one with an unbeaten run of 64 games at home and a record of 29 wins and one draw in the last 30 games. The Reds dominated at Anfield once again with 24 shots and 13 of them on target without reply. Liverpool was fortunate to get a lucky break when Evans scored an own goal after twenty minutes.

That gave the home team the initiative and they took control of the match. Jota added another one before half time and after working hard all night Firmino got his deserved goal after he was denied a goal by millimeters a few minutes before to cap off a convincing home win.

Roberto Firmino came into this match on the back of impressive goalscoring performances for Brazil. With Salah out Firmino had extra creative responsibility on his shoulders and he duly delivered. Firmino was a live wire last night and threatened multiple times with his linkup play and creativity.

Firmino capped off his brilliant performances with a goal at the end from a superb header. The goal was celebrated by all Liverpool players which showed how much it means to them and the player. They would hope that it gives Firmino much needed confidence boost going ahead in the season.
