FODEN DELIVERS A MASTERCLASS ONCE AGAIN
Phil Foden has been tipped to be the successor to David Silva at Manchester City and it is fair to say that he is doing everything to be spoken in the same line as the Spaniard. The Englishman was on top of his game once again versus the west Londoners as he scored and assisted a goal apiece from the Citizens.
He is certainly showing Pep Guardiola that he deserves to be selected ahead of Bernardo Silva, whose performance was once again average. Foden also completed 95% of all his attempted passes, while also missing one of the biggest chances City had besides the ones which led them to finding the back of the net.
DE BRUYNE COMES BACK TO HAUNT HIS FORMER CLUB
Kevin De Bruyne scored and assisted in what was a solid individual performance from him. The Belgium international has now struck in each of the last three matches he has played against the Blues and in his entire career, he has scored four times against them- more than any other former player.
His latest display compounded the misery on Frank Lampard, but speaking solely of De Bruyne, it looks like he always plays the Blues with a point to prove. The midfielder has not been on a great run of form, but with a display as good as the one versus the Blues, he once again showed why he is one of the world’s best midfielders.
