NOT THE MOST CONVINCING DISPLAY FROM TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
Aston Villa seemed like the better side for the entire 90 minutes despite losing 0-2 at home. Tottenham Hotspur were simply lucky as the hosts scrambled several chances that should have been converted. One would expect that Tottenham would put a solid display after they went through a horrific week- losing to Arsenal and then getting knocked out of the UEFA Europa Leauge.
However, that was far from the case, as Jose Mourinho’s side scraped past Aston Villa. Harry Kane’s late penalty that was tucked away eased off the pressure as the fixture until then looked like quite an open one for both sides.

THE MOST CHALLENGING FIXTURES LIE AHEAD FOR JOSE MOURINHO
The pressure is at its peak for Jose Mourinho who could possibly be dismissed from his duties if Tottenham fail to qualify for either the UCL or UEL next season or finish trophyless. With that being said, the next run of games are crucial for Mourinho to extend his stay at the north London club.
Tottenham Hotspur are set to play Newcastle United next followed by Manchester United, Everton and then Manchester City in the EFL Cup final. This set of games are absolutely crucial for Tottenham as it will not only determine a UCL or UEL qualification spot but also whether Spurs end the season trophyless or not.
