Tottenham Hotspur extend their winning streak at Villa Park to six consecutive wins after defeating Aston Villa 0-2 in the Premier League.
Tottenham Hotspur have put an end to their two-game winless streak after defeating Aston Villa in the Premier League. Spurs have maintained a solid record at Villa Park as they have now extended their unbeaten run to six consecutive away fixtures at Aston Villa’s home ground following their 0-2 victory.
The win has seen Tottenham’s ranking on the Premier League table progress as the Lilywhites are currently placed sixth on the table below West Ham United who have a one-point advantage following their shocking draw against Arsenal that ended 3-3.
With that being said, the race to finish in the top four is back on for Jose Mourinho as the business end of the season approaches. After being knocked out of the UEFA Europa League, Spurs can now channel their attention towards the Premier League in a bid to secure a top-four finish. Until then, let’s have a look at some of the talking points from Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur.

CARLOS VINICIUS SCORES HIS FIRST EVER PREMIER LEAGUE GOAL
Carlos Vinicius was brought on loan from Benfica to act as a back-up striker to Harry Kane following his phenomenal league campaign performance in 2019/20. The Brazilian striker scored 18 goals for Benfica in the Portuguese league, averaging a goal every 99 minutes.
However, since his move to Spurs, Vinicius’s involvement in the squad has been limited. Most of his chances have come in the UEFA Europa League, scoring six goals and three assists in nine appearances.
Jose Mourinho decided to hand 25-year-old a rare start in the Premier League last night against Aston Villa as he partnered the Brazilian alongside Harry Kane. Vinicius took the opportunity handed to him as he scored a simple tap-in in the first half to give Tottenham the lead. It was his first-ever Premier League goal since joining the club last summer.
