3 talking points from Manchester United’s home victory over Burnley

Manchester United registered their fifth consecutive victory, as the Red Devils defeated Burnley by a score-line of 3-1.

Manchester United have continued their impressive form as they registered their fifth consecutive victory on Sunday. The Red Devils defeated Burnley, 3-1 to cut the lead at the top of the table to eight points. However, it was not a comprehensive performance from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s men, as they left it too late to secure all three points.

Mason Greenwood opened the scoring for the hosts in the 48th minute, after a brilliant attacking move from the Red Devils which included the likes of Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes. However, the advantage did not last long, as Sean Dyche’s men hit back with an equalizer in the 50th minute.

Greenwood put the hosts in the driving seat in the 84th minute, as he scored his second goal of the day. Edinson Cavani secured all three points for United after he scored in the 93rd minute. The third goal was a vintage Manchester United goal, as it involved a lightning-fast counter-attack.

MASON GREENWOOD CONTINUES HIS IMPRESSIVE RUN OF FORM FOR MANCHESTER UNITED

Mason Greenwood has been in red-hot form since March. The English forward scored a brace against Burnley, to continue his good form in front of goal. The 19-year old has now scored five goals in the past six matches and is becoming a real threat to the opposition. He has a tendency of getting himself into goal-scoring positions, and his movement off the ball has been commendable.

The young forward scored a vital goal against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, which helped his side secure all three points. Greenwood also scored the winner against Brighton a couple of weeks ago, which was yet another crucial goal. The right-winger has managed to keep Manchester United in the race for the Premier League title with his consistency.
