LUIS SUAREZ’S AWAY GOAL DROUGHT IN THE UCL CONTINUES
Lusi Suarez has been phenomenal for Atletico Madrid this season in the Spanish league. However, in Europe’s elite competition, the former Barcelona striker continues to struggle. Against Chelsea, Suarez failed to register a single shot on target in both the legs and has now gone 25 consecutive games in the UCL without a goal. His last away goal was in 2015.
Even in the second leg, the 34-year-old failed to trouble the Chelsea backline. Joao Felix seemed to be the better attacker of the two as the Portuguese international was quite creative when compared to Suarez. Diego Simeone decided to take the veteran striker off in the 59th minute which did spark a heated situation as Luis Suarez was quite visibly furious with his manager’s decision to take him off.
