Chelsea moved to third in the Premier League, at least temporarily, thanks to their 4-1 win over Sheffield United on Saturday.
Chelsea added another win in the Premier League as they continued their good form at the Stamford Bridge against Sheffield United. The west Londoners emerged 4-1 winners after coming from behind, thanks to Tammy Abraham, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Timo Werner as well as a terrific performance from Hakim Ziyech.
The Blues are now third in the league standings at least until Sunday, but the most important factor for Frank Lampard would be that his side is starting to gel properly. All of Chelsea’s new signings are delivering and once Christian Pulisic returns to full fitness, it will be hard for anyone to stop an ambitious side from contending for silverware.
Nonetheless, there’s still a long way to go before realistic expectations regarding a trophy can mount up. For the time being, here’s a look at the three talking points from the London outfit’s latest domestic success.
CHELSEA FULLBACKS REMAIN ABSOLUTELY UNDERRATED
Chelsea have signed Ben Chilwell from Leicester City over the summer, whereas Reece James has also started to take over the right-back spot from Cesar Azpilicueta. It must be said that the fullback duo has been incredibly good for the Blues and it might only be a matter of time before they are lauded as the world’s best.
Right from the start of the season, Chilwell and James have looked fantastic at the back and have certainly not disappointed going forward, also scoring a few already. In the Premier League, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson have been handed a sky-high status, but Lampard’s young Englishmen can challenge the Liverpool duo’s supremacy.
