Real Madrid will start from scratch in 2020/21 with bigger objectives in their mind and some breakthrough stars will be very vital for them.

Real Madrid will be all-in to defend their La Liga crown next season after winning convincingly this time out. Los Blancos owe credit to their defence and the younger players for what has turned out to be a perfect campaign to overcome the misery from 2018/19. However, they have fallen short in the Copa del Rey and may not go the distance in the UEFA Champions League either.

Having already won the 34th championship, Los Merengues will be hoping to win another trophy besides potentially defending their league which is of prime priority to Zinedine Zidane. The squad’s depth with better and more developed players as compared to this season will come handy to the Frenchman next year as well.

Marco Asensio missed almost the entire season besides the final 11 matches in La Liga and the remainder of the UEFA Champions League. He was profoundly missed in the roster and showed what he had on offer with three goals and an assist in nine appearances since the restart of football in Spain after the lockdown ended.

Asensio has always been a star in the big games for Los Blancos and he could come handy in the Manchester City second leg as well. With that in mind, the 23-year-old will be looking to make an even bigger impact in the 2020/21 campaign by involving himself much more than this year. His scoring stats have always been impressive and will be beneficial in the future.
